Last night at 7pm on Comcast Chicago, channel 100, broadcast the CFD Blaze loss to the CPD Enforcers. The game took place in beautiful spring weather on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at a sold out Brother Rice Field in Chicago.

It was a great Comcast Sports local broadcast, and an even better game. Congratulations are in order for the police football team. police quarterback, Jehron Fields was named the game MVP. The Enforcers and Ray Boyd’s running game was improving as the game continued. The Enforcer Head Coach Greg Zaragoza played smash mouth football, and wore the Blaze defense down.  The CPD Enforcers are a very strong football team.

A Charlie Bliss and John Manchester lead offense is tough to stop, so Coach Zaragoza ran the football, and kept the explosive Blaze offense, lead by quarterback John Welsh and wide receiver Jesse Estrada, off the field.

The game replay can be seen if you have Comcast, On Demand.  Go to On Demand>Get Local>CN100>Game of the Week>CPD Enforce-CFD Blaze.  It may not be up for long, so if you would like to see your friends and family play a great game, check it out.

Both teams have great athletes.  On the fire side we saw Ryan Antonik make some big plays.  The Police special teams executed a little better then the CFD Blaze special teams.  Punter Chris Lenti of the CPD was able to manage the wind and keep the police special teams effective.

The Enforcer running game was a power game, complemented by QB Fields agility.  Jehron Fields was involved in a controversial play in the 4th quarter when what looked like a goal line fumble by Fields was recovered by CFD Gary Brooks.  The officials decided he was down at the goal line, which lead to the winning police touchdown by running back Ray Boyd.

CFD Head Coach and Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant Ron Michi is the Head Coach of the Blaze, and his team has a lot of heart, and will only become better as they play more NPSFL games.  Pat Gallagher’s defense did all it could do to contain an experienced CPD Enforcer offense.  The CFD Defense worked hard to keep the game close, so quarterback John Welsh would have chance to lead an offense to victory with seconds left.
