Chicago Roller Derby Returns Saturday, May 15th!

Chicago Outfit Roller Derby will be skating against the North Star Roller Girls of Minneapolis on May 15, 2010, at 8 p.m. at Windy City Field House, located at 2367 West Logan Blvd. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Roller Derby bout begins at 8 p.m.

The Chicago Outfit Syndicate won its home opener on April 24th against Paper Valley 134 to 74.  The Syndicate expects a challenge from the North Star Roller Girls who are ranked 5th in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s (WFTDA) North Central Region.

After losing to North Star 71 to 68 in 2008 the Outfit is looking forward to a rematch. As a WFTDA Apprentice League, the Outfit will be fighting hard to prove they belong in the ranks with WFTDA leagues.

As part of its effort to contribute to its community, the Outfit donates a portion of the profit from each bout to a charity. This month the Outfit will be donating to the Moxie Mayhem Fund. Last September an accident claimed the life of North Star Roller Girl’s friend and teammate, Moxie Mayhem. Moxie was struck by a car while jogging with her daughter, Zoe, who was unharmed in the accident. North Star has set up a fund to benefit Moxie’s daughter, Zoe.
