Firefighter Ball and Scholarship
Thank you for attending the 4th Annual Ignite the Spirit Ball on February 19th, 2011. Over 500 members of our firefighter family and supporters of the Chicago Firefighters were in attendance. 2011 has been our best attended firefighter ball to date!
Having the opportunity to share an evening with you, while honoring members of our community was pleasure. Your attendance and support is truly appreciated and we hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did. Please mark your calendar. February 11, 2012 will be the 5th Annual Ignite the Spirit Ball. We would like you to attend, and bring someone you love.
215 Chicago Fire Department high school age children applied for the Chris Wheatley Firefighter Scholarship. The Wheatley Firefighter Scholarship, $5,000 for a firefighter’s high school child was awarded to Lauren Piszkiewicz. Vicky and Greg, as well as their daughter Lauren where in attendance. Greg works at the Chicago Fire Department Tower Ladder 21 on the first shift.

We would like to congratulate the Piskiewicz’ and thank the West Loop Restaurant Association. Angela Lee and the West Loop Restaurant Association made a significant contribution to Wheatley Scholarship. All the members of the Chicago Fire Department thank Angela and her group of 12 restuarants that donated to this cause and to support the Chicago Fire Department in honor of Firefighter Paramedic Chris Wheatley. People and company’s like Angela, Avec and WLRA make us stand up and applaud. Your generosity and contributions help firefighters remember there are many people that care and support what firemen and paramedics sacrifice each and everyday.
