Nick Grogan Scholarship
This is the 10th year that Ignite the Spirit has offered the Nick Grogan scholarship to the families of the Chicago Fire Department, it gives the people that knew Nick a way to remember Nick every year. Nick was an outstanding firefighter and friend to many; he had a heart of gold and would help anybody that crossed his path with the drop of a hat. Nick was a genuine person and loved being a firefighter but most of all loved the guys he worked with every day. In 2007 Nick lost his battle against lung cancer after a yearlong fight.
Ignite the Spirit wants to recognize Nick for his friendship and many years of service by putting an essay competition in his name which makes this a wonderful opportunity for any student that will be attending a tuition based high school for the upcoming 2017- 2018 school year.
