Police vs. Fire – Battle of the Badges Boxing Event

The Battle of the Badges boxing event brings Chicago Police Officers, Firefighters, and Paramedics into the ring for a night of action-packed bouts—all in support of Ignite the Spirit Chicago and the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
Join us at De La Salle Institute (3434 S. Michigan Ave.) as these everyday heroes trade their gear for gloves to raise money, build community, and show off their fighting spirit. This annual showdown is more than just a fight night—it’s a chance to see Chicago’s first responders in a whole new light.

Swing for a Cause at the 2nd Annual Ignite the Spirit Golf Outing!
Join us for a day of fun, competition, and camaraderie at Harborside International Golf Center on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. This 4-person scramble kicks off with a 9:30 AM shotgun start, so be ready to hit the greens! Spots fill up fast, so don’t wait to secure your foursome.
The day is packed with excitement, including cash prizes for the 1st and 2nd place teams (both Gross and Net scores), plus plenty of chances to win in our raffle draws and door prizes. Test your skills in the Closest to the Pin challenge on all par 3 holes, where the winner takes home $500, or show off your power in the Longest Drive competition.

Chicago Firefighters Deliver Holiday Cheer to Young Patients
The Chicago Fire Department's 8th Battalion brought smiles and joy to young patients across the city, stepping in for Santa to deliver toys and goodies. Their holiday mission included stops at Shriners Children’s, Illinois Masonic, Comer Children’s, St. Anthony’s, and Rush hospitals. Thanks to toy drives organized by Ignite the Spirit, a CFD charity, these first responders ensured the season was filled with cheer for children and families in need.

Leamington Chapter: A Heartfelt Farewell and a Legacy of Impact

"We are so proud and honored that we were able to be a part of an organization that does such incredible work. Fundraiser for the Fallen
Chicago Fire Department continues to experience loss. In April, we had two Line of Duty Deaths in less than 48 hours. This month again we mourn the loss 2 more active members.
This fundraiser is to raise money for those families directly effected by the loss of our members. All proceeds will be donated directly to Ignite the Spirit Fund Chicago to be given to the families. Sales will remain open through the month of June. Each raffle item will be randomly selected shipped directly to winners. We will announce winners via live video over Social Media and winners will also be contacted by email for shipping address. Thank you all for your support! Our goal is to sell 200 entries and raise at least $10,000. Please help share!

On April 21st, we are hosting a fundraiser to support the families of Firefighter Jermain A. Pelt and Lt. Jan Tchoryk, two brave heroes who lost their lives while serving our community. This event is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and show our support for the families of these fallen firefighters.
