What's your favorite part of the job?
The guys at Engine 42's house. Great bunch who are incredibly supportive and always show up with great humor and dedication to the job.
Your favorite place for pizza in Chicago?
Best pizza is Phils in Bridgeport. Sausage, pepperoni and Giardiniera is the only way to go.
What's your favorite drink?
An Old Fashioned. Although lately I’ve been drinking Malort cocktails from Spilt Milk.
Ketchup on a hot dog?
Not on mine, but if you want to get wild go ahead and throw some ketchup on that dog!
Cubs or Sox?
I’m more of a Sox fan but don’t mind a Cubs game from time to time.
Cats or dogs?
Dog for sure! Currently have a 70 pound Pit Bull named Xolo who gets very jealous if I’m not hugging him all day.
Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
I’ve had the luck of traveling to over 60 countries but to this day the most Interesting country I’ve been to is Mexico. Multiple dialects, cultures and culinary experiences from the north to the south.
If you weren't a firefighter/paramedic, what would you be doing?
I would probably be go back to bartending in foreign countries.
Do you have tattoos-if yes, how many?
Currently only my left sleeve, mostly Purépecha Art, but still adding to include neck, chest and right arm.
Any words of wisdom?
When overthinking something you should stop and ask “Will this matter a year from now?”.
